So, my hiatus has no excuse. Honestly, I got busy. I'm really sorry.
I've been debating a huge lifestyle change for a very long time, and now that I am working a new job with a new staff it has become an even bigger idea. Paleo.
What is it? It's a way of eating that cuts out all grains, dairy, and legumes. I know what you're thinking. It's not safe. It's not healthy. It's not normal. I thought all of that too.
But it is. Why is it not okay to eat in the very way that our ancestors did centuries ago? We are the only animals that continue to drink milk after weaning off of our mothers' milk. Our bodies aren't meant to process that. There are so many chemicals pumped into the muffins, scones, and sliced breads that we eat that there is no way that I can justify them being "natural". And I just learned that legumes pretty much rip up your insides, which is why Mexican night leaves everyone a little more bloated than before they ate.
So, why am I doing this? Well, my health is important to me. I realized that I've slowly been slipping into this sort of a diet anyway. What can it hurt? If it doesn't fit well with me, then at least I can say that I tried it for a few months. So, I am going to give myself two months. Two months to see if I feel better, look slimmer, and have enough energy to make it through each day's continuously growing to-do list.
Cheers to a new beginning. Feel free to comment and share your experiences or thoughts on this lifestyle - good or bad! I look forward to hearing from you.
